Created and fine tuned in their home kitchen, Al and Ann Yanus created Seven Seas Cockatail and Tartar sauce in 1963. When the retail store, Seven Seas Seafood opened in 1964, they have been available since day one. Later changed to Al's Gourmet Cocktail and Tartar sauce, it remained constant for 62 years, becoming a staple of the local neigborhood. Thanks to friends and distributors over the years, Al's Gourmet has been enjoyed across several states. Since then, four generations have run and helped out over the years. Even though the fourth generation's tenure was brief, they're old enough to carry the memories with them. While the store is closed as of May 2026, the sauces will continue and hopefully find a larger audience.
